Life of busy married kids

I survived my first 7 finals of my first semester of Dental Hygiene school! I am just now starting to realize how fast this really is going to go. To be honest it makes me kind of sad to think about not being there and being with the fun girls in my class! But...We'll cross that bridge when we come to it! For now I just gotta make it through the next 4 semesters!

This first semester was hard. We had a lot of classes and felt like we pretty much had EVERYTHING to learn that we will need to be able to do this career. I'm thinking [hoping] it will get easier from here on out. I feel like I did extremely well this semester! I got really good grades and learned a lot! Huge shout out to my awesome hubby getting me through it all! He is so great to me! I wouldn't have done that well had I not been married! I just know it!

My finals were Friday (the 13th), Monday, and Tuesday. Saturday (the 14th) was Jett's friend Adam's wedding. We were there ALL day. So no, I did not get any studying done. It was so much fun though! Jett was a groomsman and looked amazing! He stood in the line while the happy couple tied the knot! We made some great friends there and had fun being so involved in everything and we danced our hearts out at the reception! Best reception I've been to no doubt! I was sad it ended...that meant getting home and back to studying!

Sunday was Jett's "second parents" farewell. So we were in Bountiful all day. Again..didn't get any studying done. We had breakfast with my parents then to the church @1. The stress REALLY hit me when we went to their house afterwords for some lunch. We didn't even eat anything cause I was starting to have a little melt down. Jett took me to my parents house and I had a big breakdown. He gave me a blessing and I felt a million times better! [the test I was so stressed out about...Yeah I got a 93 on it! Woot woot!] I ended up studying straight for the next two days! Needless to say, it payed off. I'll be better next semester and study a lot more! :) I'm glad they are over! Now I get to enjoy a nice two and a half week break!

Easter!

Who knew Easter could be so much fun when you are first married!! So I think I have had a trail from my room to an Easter basket almost every year [I don't know if I'll ever grow up..] so I was worried the Easter bunny wouldn't come now that I am married. Oh boy was I wrong! He still knows where I live! :)

On Saturday night we had Ryan [Jett's brother] and Amanda [Ryan's friend] over for a little Easter party! We started the night off with LOTS of pizza and other yummy foods. We then "painted" Easter eggs which didn't turn out as we had hoped.. But they were still cute! We finished the night by watching We Bought A Zoo. It was so cute!! If you haven't seen it, you really need to! Ryan slept over, so I knew the festivities couldn't be over yet..

Jett & I woke up fairly early Easter morning and he opened the door and had the expression of a little kid on his face! He said "babe I think the Easter bunny came to our house!! Come look!!" I rolled my eyes and pretended that was so childish to get so excited over something so stupid, but inside I couldn't wait to follow that trail to a basket!! I walked out and there was a trail! I followed it down the hall, down the stairs, and into our living room where I found four baskets! I knew which one was mine right off! We each got lots of candy, money, i tunes gift cards, and a shirt! I was so excited!! To top the day off we had gorgeous weather which we definitely took advantage of! I love holidays! :)

ST GEORGE

So this last weekend the WHOLE family met up at our vacation house in St George! This is a rare occasion now days with two of the sibs out of state! Chris flew in from Wisconson (on spring break from med school) and Tim & Mary drove up with their two girls from Arizona. All for dad's birthday on March 9th! It sure was a fun weekend consisting of outdoor activities, shopping, and swimming!!

The majority of us got there Thursday night (that's when the party really started). On Friday (dad's birthday) we had "big breakfast" and then started the day off by taking a morning swim! (in the 85 degree pool) the boys did their traditional bike ride [no injuries! YAY!] and the girls went to Costco! We all met up again and drove to Toquerville Falls where there was the prettiest waterfall and a big "pool" at the bottom.

Saturday the boys had another bike ride. I said no injuries last time right? Not this time! I told Jett there was to be NO blood when they came back. And what do I see when they come back? My husband bleeding ALL up his left side. :( Luckily nothing serious, just some cuts and bruises. My mom & I used to have weekly shopping trips together and since I got married it hasn't happened :( So this trip we took one together! SO much fun to have some mommy daughter time again! The wonderful day of many activities came to an end. How do we like to spend exhausting days? By getting EVERYONE in the 101 degree pool! That's right! It was like a giant hot tub! THANK YOU DAD! [hope the heating bill wasn't too high] But well worth it! :)

Always sad going home and leaving everyone!! But makes it that much more exciting looking forward to the next time we all get together! I love my family more than anything in the world! They are my true happiness! Here are some fun pictures to share the joy of our fun trip!

V-Day + Long weekend

Best Valentines day ever! It is way better when you are married that is for sure! Last year Jett and I were 4 hours apart on Valentines day and it was so hard! This year was much better! Jett walked out with me before I left for school and scraped off my car. I got in and was about to drive off when I saw a little box :) Inside was a gorgeous ring!! He made me cry! I thought that was it, but to my surprise Jett came home after work with a beautiful pink rose wrapped up all fancy and a HUGE bag of Twizzlers! He knows me too well! My favorite!! I made dinner for him and then he took me to see The Vow! I balled! It is my new favorite movie! And made me appreciate the love from my husband even more!! I'm so glad my husband tolerates so many chick flicks with me :) Such a fun day! Hope you all had a wonderful love day!

Although Valentines day was great, it was a long and exhausting week! I had three big tests, two on one day and one on another. So I was very happy to get to this weekend! [5 day weekend might I add]! I only had one class on Thursday [which never happens] I always have Friday's off, and Monday is a holiday! I am really enjoying my break :) Friday, we went to the temple & packed for our little trip! Then Saturday morning, Jett and I took off for Park City to the family condo! My brother, his wife, their two kids, and Jett's brother Braydon joined us. We went shopping, watched movies, played games, ate food, and hung out! What a fun get-a-way it has been!

FRIDAYS

So obviously everyone loves Friday's. But I have a MUCH bigger appreciation for them now. For my program we only go to school Monday through Thursday (8-5) long hours, but I'd much rather have a long weekend after an exhausting week! Another reason Friday's are so great is because I get to go on a date with my husband and stay up late with him watching movies, or doing anything besides doing homework [which is great because I swear I am always doing homework!]

This last Friday was even better than all the rest! Jett got a new job [YAY!!] so, Thursday was his last day at his old job, and therefore had Friday off just like me! He still had school in the morning but then I got him the rest of the day! We went and got my name changed :) It is now Jill Michelle Johnson Hudson. Wow what a mouthful!

After that, we went to the Temple as our weekly goal. So far we have hit every week! This week was especially great! After which, we came home and watched Step Up 2! We are going through them in order :) and surprisingly Jett loved it!! That movie really makes you want to be a dancer! So we had a dance party after and realized you need some serious muscles to break dance! After that, Jett read through all my journals for the time period he was on his mission. He actually got a kick out of it all! [much more than I did] We stayed up laughing and talking and reminiscing about old times. It was so much fun!

So all in all, I love Friday's! Its a super nice break from going to class, and for the most part I get to actually spend time with my husband! It doesn't happen too much during the week! Don't we all love Friday's? :)

On kind of that same note.. I love Saturday's as well! For some reason they aren't quite as great though. Although I get Jett the entire day, we always spend it doing homework, laundry, and other not so fun chores. Yesterday though we went to the mall with Jett's brother Ryan [WE LOVE HIM!] He bought us a few things from Pacsun [THANK YOU!] Later that night, Jett and I went on a date with two other couples. We went to dinner and then came back to our place and watched Despicable Me! We were also joined by Ryan [and date] and his friend Alex [and date]. It was so much fun to have everyone over and actually hang out with a bunch of people! We love friends!

So.. weekends are great. I look forward to them starting at about 10pm on Sunday nights.. looks like I only have a few more hours of this enjoyment til next weekend!

Back to school

Jett & I were both sad to see our Christmas break end. We had a fun couple of weeks! It is great to get back into a routine again though. Jett started back up at UVU yesterday and goes to work straight from there. He is one busy hard working guy! I started at the Utah College of Dental Hygiene yesterday and so far I love it! I will graduate with my bachelors as a Registered Dental Hygienist on August 23, 2013 :) Let the count down begin!

I finally got all my wedding pictures back!! I have looked though them a million times already and love them! I will post a few of my favorites! I also forgot to post about our honeymoon. We went to San Diego for about five days and it was so much fun!! Perfect weather and such a fun and relaxing trip! We stayed in a condo {Thank you Feller's!!} that was right on Pacific Beach. We were at the beach and pool most of the time, and walked along the boardwalk and shopped the other part of the time. Here are some pictures of that as well!!
