I keep being reminded that I need to keep a pregnancy journal and record everything. As this pregnancy comes to an end I am realizing I really should jot some things down before I forget this experience entirely (which I hope I do, otherwise I don't know if I can do it again) I realize this is kind of a public place to be so personal, but I figure not a lot of people read this, and this way I can't lose it like a journal I would write in. I will spare the details for those that do like to follow my blog, but this is mostly for me to remember and one day I will be able to share these things with this little girl and the experiences I had with her inside of me!
During the first trimester I wasn't sick at all! I remember feeling so guilty every time someone would ask me if I had been sick. I know lots of people who get extremely sick in the first trimester and throughout the entire 9 months. Yes I realize I am extremely blessed to have felt great!! I was extremely tired and taking naps almost daily. I also lost my appetite and lost a little weight in the first trimester. They say that is completely normal though. Luckily I wasn't losing weight from losing all my meals.. At about 7 weeks pregnant I threw up and thought 'oh great, now it begins' well, I didn't stop throwing up all night and NOTHING made me fee better (which is not true with morning sickness) turns out I had the 24 hour flu and I was so thankful to get over that! I cannot imagine doing that much longer! I was so excited to be out of the first trimester! What a milestone for a first time mom!
Second trimester... Oh boy! This trimester was full of so many emotions! Mostly a constant roller coaster! I remember thinking, 'I need to get a grip or Jett is going to leave me' (but I know he never would for ANYTHING!) I was extremely rude, snappy, controling, and I would cry really hard for the silliest things. Let me tell you, this was awful!! I felt so down and like I didn't have control of my body or emotions anymore. As soon as I realized how bad it was getting I quickly changed and had a totally different way of thinking. I was still emotional (of course) but it was SO much better!
There were a lot of changes during the second trimester, the main one being that I was growing and couldn't do anything about it. I loved watching my belly grow and feeling her move inside of me all of the time! I remember thinking so many times how annoyed I was that everyone kept saying "oh you're over half way!? You are so tiny!" or "you aren't even showing at all!" This may seem silly, but when you want to start showing off the baby bump and people keep saying they cant even tell, it gets rather annoying. Looking back though I am thankful for those kind words because I remember feeling huge very early on! So thank you to those who didn't think I was showing.
It was about two or three weeks before I realized I was in my third trimester. That was a good day! It had been going so fast that I hadn't even realized how close I was getting! The third trimester has been awesome. Yes I notice myself growing daily, and no I cannot put on my socks by myself anymore, and no I'm never comfortable, not sleeping, always hurting, and constantly pushing this little one out of my ribs. But I wouldn't change it for the world! I LOVE watching her warp my belly and seeing her move all around. It is like she is already trying to get out! And I know the bigger I get the closer she is to getting here so I just try and embrace it! Pregnancy is no picnic, but like I said, I wouldn't change anything for the world! I feel so blessed to even have this opportunity to carry a child! What a little miracle babies are! I hope to have lots more!!!
